Ice Carving 101
Join us for a four week chilling adventure of ice carving. We will gather twice a week on Monday and Wednesday evenings. All students will receive an Ice Carving 101 text book authored by your instructor Michael Jasa CEC. This professional development series is designed for the beginner to learn the basics of safety, tool usage, design implementation, and general sculpture technique. Although our class format will allow an experienced carver to hone their skills too.
Each week's format will encompass a skills demonstration on the first day, with practical hands-on exposure, and a design preparation workshop. Each second day of the week will be entirely at your carving stations for creating your own unique sculptures with the guidance of our instructor.
All the necessary tools and equipment will be provided. The first week will cover the basics of handling ice, along with all the safety measures outlined in the text book with an angelfish carving workshop. First time carvers are required to attend this first day of instruction for safety training. The following weeks will focus on additional designs, advanced skills, multi-block reassembly, and logo scroll work implementation.
